I’m saving all my pennies
So I could spend a day with you.
I hope you’ll go along
To spend it with me too.

Sleep eight hours,
Work eight hours,
Play eight hours,
Yet it never
Unfolds that way.
So the thoughts
Blur in my mind,
And wasted are
My weeks and days.

I’m not a fan of sunshine
But I want to see the beach.
Perhaps with seagulls
As the only occupants
And the icy sea spray
Covering our booted feet.

When the world’s too bright,
I’ll come to you dear.
You’ve got the darkness
I’ve been looking for.
Or do I have it backwards?

I told you the apple was poison.
You just laughed.
I guess you should learn to listen darling.

You can put all my words together
And they will spell out nothing more
Than the fact I can’t stop believing
There is something more in all of us.

Time turns what we want away.
And with it brings new things.
So what that I started enjoying coffee?
